Attorney Joseph H. Low IV is a national trial lawyer recognized for his extraordinary courtroom victories. Mr. Low has never lost a murder case in a military court martial, and routinely receives multi-million-dollar verdicts for injured clients across the country.

In 2023, Gerry Spence, Legendary Lawyer and American Trial Lawyer’s Hall of Fame recipient, appointed Joseph Low as his successor at his acclaimed trial college, Gerry Spence Method. Joseph teaches his winning strategies and methods to other trial attorneys who are committed achieving justice for the poor, the injured, the voiceless, and the defenseless. Mr. Low and his pro bono staff train lawyers who represent ordinary people.

Mr. Low was the first in history to introduce Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) as an affirmative defense for capital murder. His work with America’s Servicemen: Marines, Army Rangers, and Navy Seals, has garnered Not Guilty verdicts against seemingly unbeatable odds.

● $150 million victory against PG&E in Ruckman v. PHE, AgWise, et al. 2022

● $72.5 million win in Cuevas v. Rai Transport 2020

● $11 million verdict in McPhoy v. Ramirez 2020

● $10.5 million verdict in Carter v. Kern County School District, 2016

One of Mr. Low’s greatest legal victories came at the United States Supreme Court in the quintessential case for the 6th Amendment right to “a lawyer of your choice.” United States v. Gonzalez-Lopez, 548 U.S. 140 (2006). Mr. Low’s commitment to his client garnered him victory at the U.S. Supreme Court where he secured the right of all people to hire the lawyer of their choice. Justice Scalia delivered the opinion of the Court in a 5-4 split decision.
